Tribal Development Programme

Were literacy in the pattern of Non-Formal Education to the tribal children and other illiterate section, income generation through various possible and plausible means for women folks and general health and Family Welfare. Our focus had been on socially and economically downtrodden STs and we were anxiously busy in filling the gap to bring about perceptible changes in the situation. Under the scheme, Shree Laljee Prashikshan Kendra had identified 16 such villages in Dhanbad were Balwadi Centres had been established and all their requirements had been met. The provisions included slates, basic and primary books, exercise books, blackhead pencils, hanging black boards, chalks etc; arrangements of a suitable place for the class room and that of a willing and competent male teacher, belonging to the same section of the tribal folk. The classes are still running smoothly. Simultaneously, the group formation of the eligible women for their micro economic activities for income generation and village – wise group meetings for awareness generation on health and family welfare are regularly done. The work on the project had been launched on 20th December, 1999, and through, the assistance ended with December, 2000 the core activities are continuing in a sustainable way.
